Mrs. Patricia Della Schortiano, age 72, of Limestone, went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a courageous battle with cancer on December 15, 2013.

Della was born outside of Chicago, Illinois on March 22, 1941. Della loved helping others and she demonstrated this in her vocation as a registered nurse. She most recently was employed by Four Oaks Health Care in Jonesborough and Caris Hospice in Johnson City, where she left behind many friends and acquaintances.

Della was survived by her daughter Teresa Ratlief and son-in-law Lonnie Jr. “Rocky” of Limestone, two grandsons Lonnie III and Matthew. She also leaves behind her cats, Cupcake, Muffin, Snaggles and Dexter who provided her great comfort, along with her best Brenda Allen of San Diego, CA. Della was a private person who did not want any fanfare or ceremony to commemorate her passing.

The family would like to thank the staff of Caris Hospice for their kindness and compassion in paving the way for Della’s final journey home.
