Mr. Murphy Welsey Hensley, born June 3, 1922, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at the age of 91 at his residence in Telford.

Mr. Hensley was a native of Washington County and son of the late Carmen & Delitha Blankenship Hensley. He was also preceded in death by a son, Arthur G. Hensley, his siblings, Von Hensley, Ellen Shelton, Dill Hulse, and a daughter-in-law, Brenda J. Hensley.

He was an active member of Bowmantown Baptist Church and well known in the community. He enjoyed friends, family and neighbors, and the local coffee crowd. His farming skills and advice were evident for his abundant supply of corn and sweet potatoes to many. He will be sorely missed by friends, family and all who knew him.

Mr. Hensley retired from Baxter Pharmaceutical and was a life-long farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Leila Hensley, Telford; two sons and daughter-in-law, Beebe & Sandra Hensley and Dallas Hensley; one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly & Paul A. Armentrout; grandchildren, Kimberlee Hensley, Todd Hensley and wife Dena, Cade Hensley and wife Jenny, Tony Hensley, Kevin Armentrout, Gina Grizzle and husband Josh; great-grandchildren, Caitlin Hensley, Jesse Hensley, Morgan Hensley, Riley Hensley, Zachary Grizzle, Isaac Grizzle and Noah Grizzle; six sisters, Prince Bailey, Nora Riddle, Phyliss Jones, Helen Goodman, Elsie Hensley, Evelyn Saults and husband Delbert; two brothers, Brown Hensley and Ralph Hensley; two sisters-in-law, Mary Emma Bell and husband Roy, and Nila Price; three brother-in-laws, H. Mack Brown, Hoot Brown and wife Marie and Kyle Wayde Brown and wife Eulee.

Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 PM Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Grizzle, Pastor Tony Crossnoe and Preacher Sakkie Pretorius officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 pm Thursday prior to the service.

Interment services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, December 13, 2013 at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Hulse, Todd Hensley, Cade Hensley, Tony Hensley, Jesse Hensley and Kevin Armentrout. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Stevens, Randy Perkins, Gary Royston, John Fossit, Bobby Shanks, Paul J. Broyles and Adult IV Sunday School Class.
