Ray Burleson

Mr. Ray Burleson, age 62, Jonesborough, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Burleson was born in Augusta, VA and son of the late Ted Donald & Frances Madeline Doyle Burleson. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard D. Mullins and one nephew, Robbie Burleson.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Burleson retired after 28 years from Mountain Home VA and Washington County Sheriff’s Department. He also retired from Sav-a-lot Foods. He was Honorary Chief of Cheyenne Nation. He loved his children and grandchildren. He liked fishing, hunting, his dogs, and working in his yard.
Survivors include his wife Mary Beth Saylor Burleson, Jonesborough; sons, T.J. Burleson, Bluff City and Josh Burleson, Jonesborough; daughter, Rebecca Burleson, Elizabethton; grandchildren, Jake Frye, Noel Burton, Kayla Burleson and Sabrina Burleson, all of Elizabethton; three brothers, Mickey Mullins, Florida, Donnie Burleson, Limestone and Richard Burleson, Johnson City; and several nephews and nieces.
Memorial services will be conducted 5:00 PM Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Humphries officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 PM Sunday prior to the service.
