A much-loved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, father-in-law, and uncle, Jackie Broyles, 65, of Jonesborough, Tennessee passed away peacefully at his home November 25, 2013 with his family and friends present. He had bravely confronted and fought cancer. He was born May 24, 1948 in Johnson City, Tennessee and resided in the Bowmantown community for his entire lifetime. Jackie was a lifetime member of the Bowmantown Baptist Church. Jackie was the owner operator of Broyles & Sons Construction and loved farming and excavation. His pride and joy was his twin sons, grandchildren, and family.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Gail Troutman Broyles of Jonesborough; son Keith Lee Broyles and wife Hillary of Jonesborough; son Heath Lynn Broyles and wife Mitzi of Jonesborough; grandsons Logan, Kayden, Landen, Lexton, and Kullen; granddaughters Kale and Lexie; sister Janice Campbell and husband Joseph of Telford; nephews Jonathan Troutman, Derek Troutman, Mikey Sells, Junior, and DJ Gore; nieces Kimberly Bailey and husband Eric of Telford; Heather Mitchell of Clarks Creek, Tiffany Gore, Limestone; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Lee Broyles, and mother Mildred Scott Broyles, infant sister, father-in-law, Dallas Troutman; and nephew Tony Strickland II.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-4:00 & 5:00-7:00 pm Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the Bowmantown Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Crossnoe officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Rector, Randall Hartman, Russell “Buddy” Broyles, Greg Dickeson, Phil Campbell, Eduardo Rojas, Lisa Armentrout and Kyle Carson. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Sells, Senior
Michael (Mikey) Sells, Junior, Bill Johnson, Johnny Slagle, J.L. Baines, Dallas James (DJ) Gore, Nathan Troutman, Steve Troutman, Johnny Troutman, Robert “Doonie” Ward and Justin (Trigger) Masters.
