Claude R. Baudinot, 83, was born in Joinville Le Pont Seine Marie, France to parents Robert Alfred Baudinot and Jeanne Louise Meissimilly. His step-father was Leopold Kolar whom he adored.

Mr. Baudinot immigrated to the U.S. in 1953 and gained U.S. citizenship in 1959. He served with the French and U.S. military. He learned English working his first job at McClellan’s and later worked for the Johnson City Foundry ornamental shop, later moving to the drafting/detailing department. He later worked for Powell Construction Co. helping to design coal moving bridgework being proudest of one conveyor they said was impossible to build.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one child, Jeffery Allan; brother, Andre; and sister, Simone. He is survived by his wife Gerry of 59 years; sons, Chris of Nashville; and Rodney and wife Corrine of Johnson City; an adored granddaughter, Breanne; and grandchildren Courtney King of Los Angeles, California, Joseph King of Jacksonville, Florida, Thomas and Isabelle Johnson of Johnson City along with loved nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed building everything with metal and wood, working outside, camping with friends and working out at the Wellness Center with his many friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Eden United Methodist Church with Rev. Jake Herron officiating.

The family would like to thank the doctors, especially Dr. Farrow and the nurses for their loving care.
