Mr. Jackie (Jack) R. Bailey, 75, of Limestone, TN passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on 27 October 2013.



Mr. Bailey was born and raised in Limestone, TN. He was married to Bernice (Ryals) Bailey in 1958. He is survived by his wife Bernice, Limestone, TN; three daughters; Vanessa Hunter of Maryland, Fawn Gale of Nevada and Queena Bitto of Maryland; his brother & sister-in-law Tommy and Linda Bailey, of Limestone, TN; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Jack left Limestone Tennessee for the U.S. Air Force in 1958 and stayed in the USAF for 12 years until 1970. He served in Libya, Turkey and several locations within the United States. In 1970 he joined the National Security Agency and worked in Maryland until his retirement in 1993. His total government service of 35 years is an example of how much he loved this country. He moved back to Limestone, TN in 2004 to live out his retirement.

The family wants to extend a warm thank you to all of the staff at the Johnson City Medical Center, especially those on the 5th floor. Also a warm thank you to the Hospice care givers, your caring and devotion to your duties are greatly appreciated. The family acknowledges all staff at Quillen rehabilitation hospital, thank you for your compassion.

Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Ponder officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday prior to the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Ward, Roy Gillis, Howard Gillis, Orlin Collins, Marvin Buckner, Alton Hunter, Leo Pasciak, Timothy Quick, Allan Quick, Thomas Ryals, Alton Ryals, Tom Bailey, Terry Bailey and David Holley.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the New Salem Baptist Church cemetery fund in memory of Mr. Jackie Bailey; 421 Lester Snapp Rd. Limestone, TN 37681.
