Mr. Charles R. Deakins, age 91, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Deakins was a native of Washington County and son of the late Charles & Hattie Ward Deakins. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Christine Deakins and three brothers.

He was a member of Mount Bethel Christian Church.

Mr. Deakins was a World War II Army Veteran.

He was a Mail Man and Farmer.

Survivors include one son, Steve Deakins and wife Barbara; and one daughter Beth Delaney and husband Frank, one granddaughter Meagan Delaney, two step-grandchildren Jennifer Renderos and J.P. Newman; four great grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Dr. Dewayne Baird officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 pm Wednesday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family & friends.
