Mrs. Anna Kate Brown Ramsey, age 80, of Jonesborough, passed away Monday, September 23, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Ramsey was a lifelong resident of Washington County and the daughter of the late Millard Crocket Brown and Bonnie Lake Garber Brown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marion (Hot Shot) Ramsey in 2004, sister, Jacquline Brown, brothers, Eugene Brown and Charles A Brown.

Anna Kate was a Baptist. She retired from Kennametal after 29+ years where she worked as an inspector and in the shipping department. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her son Dana Ramsey, Sr. of Jonesborough, daughter Karen Smail and husband Jim of Gray; grandson Dana Ramsey Jr. of Jonesborough; granddaughter Sarah Engle and husband Ken of Plaquemine, Louisiana; brother John Brown and wife, Mary of Johnson City and sister-in-law Carolyn Brown of Jonesborough; brother-in-laws Dana L. Ramsey and Harold Ramsey of Johnson City and sister-in-law Bonnie Jones of Gray. Several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from Wednesday, 9/25 at 5:00-7:00PM at Dillow Taylor Funeral Home in Jonesborough. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00PM. The Rev. Tim Broyles will officiate services.

A committal service will be conducted on Thursday, 9/26 at 10:30AM Washington County Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home.
