Ms. Sally M. Layton, age 54, Johnson City, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Ms. Layton was born in Inglewood, California and daughter of the late Robert Laurence & Miriam Jane Race Alspaugh.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Ms. Layton worked at Cracker Barrel. She was also a homemaker, who loved to make art, sew and cook. Sally had a vast knowledge of Classic Hollywood Cinema.

Survivors include three children, Liz Layton, Spencer Layton and Kate Layton and their father, Steve Layton; grandchildren, Marlene Layton and grandson on the way, Strummer Abraham Blevins; sisters, Sue Kurtz, Sharon Balint and Joyce Foster; brother, John Alspaugh; and several nephews and nieces.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of 5200 wing at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Memorial services will be conducted 3:00 pm Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Seals officiating.
