Bernice Bode Dale, age 98, Johnson City, passed away Friday July 19, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mrs. Dale was born November 19, 1914 in New Eagle, PA and resided in Bethel Park, PA for 68 years, until moving to Appalachian Christian Village in 2009. In addition to her parents, John Henry Christian Bode & Emma Everline Bode she was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, John Blair Dale, two brothers, three sisters, and grandson, Mark Edward Johnson.

She was a faithful member of the Altar Guild at Bethany Lutheran Church, Bethel Park, PA.

Mrs. Dale was a Homemaker. She loved crafts, needlework, gardening and baking.

Survivors include two daughters, Grace Johnson, Huntersville, NC; and Ruth Davis (Glenn), Johnson City; five grandchildren: Paul Johnson, Nashville, TN, Amy Burger (Jim), Huntersville, NC, Mindy Davis, Johnson City, Jennifer Woody (Brian), Richmond, VA and Brad Davis (Anna) Johnson City: seven great-grandchildren, Ellie and Daniel Burger, Davis, Olivia and Heath Woody, and Amelia and Harper Davis; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Morrison, Orlando, FL and Hazel Pontius, Kittanning, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Grandview’s Tuesday Morning Calling Group and the caregivers at Appalachian Christian Village for their love and support.

A memorial service will be held at Appalachian Christian Village 3:00 pm Sunday, July 21, 2013, with Dr. Aaron Wymer officiating. Visitation will follow.
