Janet Elaine Hughes Roberts, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

She was born in Athens, TN and lived most of her life in Jonesborough. She was a daughter of the late Chester & Naomi Hicks Hughes.

Janet was a Registered Nurse, having received a Bachelor of Science degree from East Tennessee State University.

Those left to carry on her legacy, daughter and son-in-law, Heather & Loyd Dawson, Telford; son and daughter-in-law, Eric Thomas & Becky Peters Roberts, Knoxville; brother, Ronald Evans Hughes, Charlotte, NC; grandsons, Thomas Christopher Dawson, Zachary David Dawson, both of Telford and Nolan Chapman Roberts, Knoxville; sister-in-law, Judy Hughes, Charlotte, NC; niece, Stefannie Painter (David), Travelers Rest, SC; nephew, Sean Hughes (Michelle), Wilmington, NC; and great-nephew, Camden Hughes, Montgomery, Wilmington, NC.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Robert English officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday prior to the service.

Interment services will be conducted 3:00 pm Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at McMinn Memory Gardens, Athens, TN.

Pallbearers will be family & friends.
