Dr. Terry J Dibble, PhD age79, Milligan College, Tennessee, died Sunday July 7, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center due to complications from pneumonia.
Born March 1, 1934 to George Riley Dibble and Margaret Catherine LeRock Dibble in Alton, Ks. In addition to his to parents he was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law Fran Dibble.
Dr. Dibble was a retired Professor from Milligan College where he taught Humanities for 29 years. He received a PhD from the University of Nebraska and completed his undergraduate studies at Fort Hays Kansas.
Dr. Dibble was an avid reader, scholar, loved games and puzzles and had become quite fond of playing games and communicating on his Kindle.
Dr. Dibble is survived by wife Katherine Dibble, one daughter Sheryl Garland and husband Leroy. Three grandchildren, Heather Phipps, Stephan Phipps and wife Jessica, and Correy Garland. 4 Great Grandchildren, Hailie, Mason, Caleb and Aiden; one sister Jane Moore and husband Delbert, two brothers Danny and wife Connie Dibble and Joe Dibble. Nephews Darin Nelson, Dorin Nelson, and Sean Dibble, niece Daphne Dibble and families.
A Memorial Service honoring his life will be held on Tuesday July 9th at 7:00 PM at Hopwood Christian Church on the Milligan College campus. Receiving of Friends will be at 6:00. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hopwood Christian Church PO Box 149 Milligan College 37682 or Milligan College, Milligan College 37682. Dr. Dibble has donated his body to the Anthropological Science Department, University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Dr. Dibble was a beloved teacher, mentor, friend and family member. Words cannot express our loss.
