Robert Lawson passed away at home on Tuesday, June 18th in Fresno, CA. Bob grew up in east Tennessee where he met his wife, Suzanne, in grade school, and they were blessed with three beautiful children. Bob loved his God and his family (most especially his eleven grandchildren), travel and celebrations, Suzanne’s flower garden, golf and the University of Tennessee football team. He always enjoyed a good meal and conversation punctuated by laughter around the dinner table.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Lyle Lawson of Fresno, CA; daughter & son-in-law, Millie & Tim Byers of Fresno, CA; daughter & son-in-law, Jennie & Jon Chandler of Kennesaw, GA; son, Matthew Lawson of Kennesaw, GA; grandchildren Madeline, Matthew Timothy, Katie & Justin Byers of Fresno, CA; Nate & Ben Chandler of Kennesaw, GA; Lance, Lauren Grace & Graham Lawson of St. Petersburg, FL; Levi & Copelyn Lawson of Kennesaw, GA; sisters Betty Sims of Jonesboro, TN & Patsy Bergdorf of Strasburg, VA.
A Graveside Service will be held at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Jonesboro, TN on Friday, June 28th at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Alan Shelton, Tom Jones, Julian Chandler, Tim Byers, Jon Chandler, Tommy Newton, David Keys and Vincent Keefauver.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the UCSF Foundation designated for Brain Cancer Research at P.O.
