Just saw G. E. Lowe in action on the USS Yorktown in the WW2 Navy Movie "The Fighting Lady (1944)" on YouTube site (Airboyd's site)and thought his family might want to know. I was watching the movie and the ship was preparing for a battle in the Marianas Islands (Guam). I saw a sailor at a chapel service that had G.E. Lowe, Jonesboro Tennessee on the back of his shirt at about 42:11 minute mark. Sorry for your loss and God bless him for his service. I am a Vietnam vet from Ridgely, Tn and am always glad to see another Hillbilly.

My father David MacDonald, recently passed away and we have started going thru the many boxes of memories that he had accumulated in his 91 years. I came across his "Sailors Handbook" . In the front of the book, there is a section for "Autographs of my shipmates". One of his shipmates thar signed his book, along with his address is a Gale E. Lowe . Adress was RFD #3 in Jonesboro,TN. I found the on-line obit for Gale E. Lowe and i believe that my fathr,David was a friend of Gale aboard the USS Yorktown. I will keep him in my thoughts when I remember my Dad.
