Mrs. Haven Hughes, age 81, Jonesborough, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Hughes was born in Yancey County, NC and daughter of the late George & Minnie Bryant Ward. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ed Hughes, an infant daughter, Delores Hughes and three brothers.

She was a member of Mount O’Dell Freewill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hughes was a Seamstress. She loved gardening and her dog “Skipper”.

Survivors include her children, Ellas Hughes (Pam), Greeneville, Larry Hughes (Regina), Alene Wilson (Troy), Kenneth Hughes (Dorothy), Gene Hughes (Debbie) and Ricky Hughes (Donna), all of Jonesborough; one brother, Bob Ward, Michigan; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedysis Hospice, especially Bridgette, for their wonderful loving care.

Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Monday, June 3, 2013 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Chaplain David Snyder officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Monday prior to the service.

Interment services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Seviers Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family & friends.
