Mrs. Hazel M. Pruitt, age 81, Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mrs. Pruitt was born in Birmingham, Alabama and daughter of the late Charles Lamar Jones, Sr. & Nellie Smith Jones. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Major Charles Lamar Jones, Jr.

She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Pruitt was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary # 2108, Johnson City, Tennessee, Department of Ladies Auxiliary and United Daughter’s of Confederacy. She loved to read, travel with her husband, go to the beach and was an avid and accomplished sailor.

Survivors include her husband, Hugh Pruitt, Jonesborough; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Lee & Sandra Pruitt and Derril Scott & Donna Pruitt; grandson, Dennis Pruitt; one step-grandson Nicholas Horowitz; and one sister, Martha Senkbeil, Cleveland, GA.

Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 Monday, June 3, 2013 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Steve Harmon officiating.
