Michael David Mitchell, of 1720 Lakeview Drive, Johnson City, formerly of Telford, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. Born January 28, 1959, he was the son of the late Johnny P. Mitchell and Retha Hill Mitchell. Mike graduated from East Tennessee State University with a B.S. in History in 1981. Mike served in the US Army with the Specialist Four Division. Surviving are his sister, Anna P. Ruble (Penny) and husband Daniel E. Ruble, East Bend, NC; two nieces, Caroline Elizabeth Ruble, Salisbury, NC, and Emily Brooke Ruble, East Bend, NC; several cousins, and a special aunt, Betty Mitchell. A Memorial Service will be conducted on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 2:30 PM at the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Kevin Holmes officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post 4933.
