Mr. Samuel Benjamin McCracken, age 79, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in Wichita, Kansas.

Mr. McCracken was born in Washington College, TN and raised in Limestone, TN “Sammy” graduated from Sulphur Springs High School, class of 1951.

After graduating, Sam left the area to join the United Sates Air Force. Having met and married his wife, Marva, he therefore settled and raised his family in Wichita, Kansas.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin M. and Grace (McBride) McCracken and one daughter, Denise Wilcoxen.

Survivors include his wife, Marva, daughters, Robin McMullen, Lisa Ruiz, and Christy Colbert. Sam also leaves behind one sister, Betty Hartman Webb, Jonesborough, one brother, W. Ross McCracken, Waco, TX, five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Washington College, TN. A memorial service and interment will be at a later date.
