Mrs. Opal Barnes Archer, 94 formerly of Jonesborough, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Center on Aging & Health in Erwin.
Mrs. Archer was a native of Washington County and a resident of Jonesborough for most of her life. She is a daughter of the late Elmer and Jessie Liptrap Barnes. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Archer was also preceded in death by her husband Howard Archer and daughter-in-law Donna Archer.
She was a member of Jonesborough United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Archer enjoyed traveling with her husband and cooking.
Survivors include son Larry Archer of Unicoi; and daughter Elizabeth A. Rowe and husband Eric of Kingsport; grandchildren, Todd W. Archer and wife Tina, Kevin A. Archer, Kelly A. Story and husband Brett, Gunnar Rowe and Nicholas Rowe; and great-grandchildren Canyon Durham and Forest Durham.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Fairview Cemetery, Jonesborough.
