Mr. Billy Joe “Bill” Mosier, age 56, Smyrna, TN passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Stonecrest Medical Center in Nashville.

Bill was born in Johnson City and son of the late Bill & Mamie J. Mosier. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Clara Chapman and one brother, Jimmy Mosier.

He was a United States Army Veteran and worked for the Johnson City Rescue Squad. In addition, Bill worked as a prison guard in both Nashville and Las Vegas Nevada. He was an active member of his community and in his younger days enjoyed playing and singing in the Desert Rose Band in and around Johnson City.

Bill loved the outdoors and especially loved to fish.

He loved and was loved by many.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Mosier, Smyrna; three children, Billie Joe Mosier, Johnson City, Jennifer Mosier-Winkler, Richmond, KY and Chrissy Marlin Smyrna, TN; brother, Guy Mosier, Johnson City; sisters, JoAnn Kimes, Nashville TN and Judy Hicks, Johnson City; half-brother, Billy Dean Mosier, Johnson City; six grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nephews and nieces.

He was a father-figure and mentor to many including Chad Bryan and Eddie Hall of Smyrna Tn.

Bill was a wonderful husband, father and man. He will be greatly missed by his family and everyone that knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held 4:00 pm Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Ingram officiating.
