Mrs. Christine Deakins, age 88, Jonesborough, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at her residence.
Mrs. Deakins was a native of Washington County, and was the daughter of the late Elmer Dee and Rose Buckingham Harrison.
She attended Mount Bethel Christian Church.
Mrs. Deakins loved caring for children; she also enjoyed gardening and needlework.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Charles R. Deakins, Jonesborough; son, Steve Deakins and wife Barbara; and one daughter Beth Delaney and husband Frank, one granddaughter Meagen Delaney, two step-grandchildren Jennifer Renderos and J.P. Newman, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Dr. C. Dwayne Baird officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 pm prior to the service. Graveside services will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
