Mr. Thomas Carroll Clark, age 85, Johnson City, went to be with his Lord and his precious wife, Elizabeth on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Veteran Administration Community Living Center. Carroll was known as “Pap” to his friends and family
“Pap” was a self-employed Electrician for 40+ years. He served as bi-vocational Pastor at Greenwood Baptist Church, Johnson City, Unicoi Baptist, Unicoi and Vernon Height Baptist, Kingsport.
He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served as Senior Adult Men’s Sunday School Class Teacher until his health prevented his attendance. “Pap” enjoyed reading western books and had become an avid Atlanta Braves and UT sports fan.
“Pap” served in the United States Army during WWII in the Philippines. He was proud of his service to our country and continued to be a supporter of those who serve.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest & Mattie Clark, wife, Elizabeth Clark and infant daughter, Karen Elizabeth.
Survivors include two sons, Danny Clark and wife, Debby and Eddie Clark, all of Johnson City; grandchildren, Mallory Clark, Angee & Will Lee, both of Johnson City, Matt & Julie Houston, El Paso, Texas, Joshua Houston, Nashville, Sara & Andy Stewart, Elizabethton, Matthew Clark, Johnson City, Heather & Timmy Forinash, Memphis, Ashlee Fugate, Johnson City and Johnny Fugate, Gray; six great-grandchildren; sister, Louise Harrell, Jonesborough; and several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life Service will be conducted 7:00 pm Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Pete Tackett and Rev. Kenneth Kyker officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 10:00 AM Friday, March 22, 2013 at New Salem Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be selected from family & friends.
