Robert Jolly "Bob" Jarrett

Mr. Robert Jolly “Bob” Jarrett, Jonesborough, age 83, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness.

Mr. Jarrett was a native of Green Mt. North Carolina and the son of the late Robert and Julie Woody Jarrett. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Jessie Jarrett, David Jarrett, Ellic Jarrett, and Alfred “Buster” Jarrett; and four sisters, Pauline Jarrett, Daisy Wyatt, Ethel Tipton, and Velma Huffman.

Mr. Jarrett was a United States Air Force Veteran having served in the Korean War.

He retired from the city of Johnson City after 20 years of service at Motor Transport.

Mr. Jarrett was a member of the Masonic Rhea Lodge in Jonesborough. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Shriner and member of the Scottish Rite.

He was a very loving father, grandfather and husband. He always put others first and would help anyone.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Charlotte Haynes Jarrett, Jonesborough; two sons, Robert M. (Junior) Jarrett and wife Angie and Sam Jarrett and wife Rachel; two daughters, Donna Tallmadge and husband James and Stephanie Dunn and husband Eric; granddaughters, Kacie Jarrett, Emily Jarrett and Kelli Ward; grandson, Jacob Dunn; and one brother, Charlie Jarrett.

Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 pm Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buddy Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm Sunday prior to the service.

Interment services will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, March 18, 2013 at Mountain Home National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eric Dunn, James Tallmadge, David Wise, Mickey Faulkner and other family and friends.
