Mrs. Susan H. Humphrey, age 69, Jonesborough, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mrs. Humphrey was a native of Washington County and daughter of the late Frances & Sarah Miller Hines.

She was a member of Jonesborough United Methodist Church, Open Door Sunday School Class, Hand Bell Choir and former member of Meadow Brook Pike United Methodist Church, where she was involved in the Mother’s Day out Program, Choir and United Methodist Women. Mrs. Humphrey played the piano and enjoyed all types of music and was an avid animal lover.

Mrs. Humphrey was a Speech Pathologist for Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Sullivan, Anderson and Morgan County Schools and retired from Grainger County. She was also involved in the Head Start Program in Anderson County. After retiring in 1995, Mrs. Humphrey moved to Jonesborough and worked for the last four years at Marj on Main.

Survivors include her husband, Jeffery R. Humphrey, Jonesborough; daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Humphrey, Johnson City; son Jonathan Gabriel Humphrey, Jonesborough; sister, Pat Moody, Johnson City; nieces, Jerri Rafalowski, Gray and Mary Lou Williams, Lavern, TN; nephews, Mitchell Moody, Knoxville, J.T. Hinkle, Joey Hinkle and Josh Hinkle, all of Elizabethton; and two great-nephews and one great-niece.

Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Jonesborough United Methodist Church with Pastor Tammy Wright officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday prior to the service.

Interment services will be conducted 10:00 am Friday, February 16, 2013 at Maple Lawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mitchell Moody, Drew Rafalowski, Zach Rafalowski, Joey Hinkle, J.T. Hinkle and Josh Hinkle.
