Mrs. Mildred Geneva Bennett, age 83, formerly of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Ringgold, Georgia.

Mrs. Bennett was a native of Sycamore, Georgia and daughter of the late Willie C. & Burma Hale Nesmith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bennett was also preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Bennett, Sr. and one sister, Gladys Stone.

Survivors include two daughters, Christy Gambrell, Jonesborough and Freida Whitaker Coleman, Ringgold, GA; one son, Marcus Bennett, Jr., Onley, Ill; special son-in-law, Terry Coleman; grandchildren, Jonathan Gambrell, Sarah Gambrell, Nicola Bennett, Vonda Hill and several great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Jonesborough.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
