Mrs. Marie McGee, age 89, Telford, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 at her residence.

Mrs. McGee was a native of Washington County and daughter of the late Fred & Maxie Loyd Sliger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Orval McGee, four brothers, Virgil “Tuff” Sliger, N.B. “Buck” Sliger, Albert Sliger and Ed Sliger and one sister, Anna Mae Sliger.

She was a member of New Victory Baptist Church.

Mrs. McGee loved gardening.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Curtis & Leona McGee, Jonesborough and Harold “Pete” & Phyllis McGee, Telford; sister and brother-in-law, Carol & Lee Cooper, Jonesborough; sister-in-law, Bernadine Sliger, Telford and Pat Sliger, Jonesborough; grandchildren, Eric McGee and wife, Nancy, Jonesborough and Crystal Wegner and husband, John, Charlottesville, VA; great-grandchildren, Isaac McGee, Jonesborough and Alexis Caroline Wegner, Charlottesville; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Dr. Lester Morelock officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday prior to the service.

Interment services will be conducted 2:30 pm Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at New Victory Methodist Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wayne King, Ronnie Cutshaw, Randy Cooper, Bob Keplinger, Oscar Woodruff and Herman Payne. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Sliger and Joe Dickerson.
