Mrs. Mary Frances Hicks, 83, Jonesborough, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.

She was a native of Washington County and the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Mary Ruth Jenkins Buck. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Sidney Hicks in 1994, two sons Sidney Joe Hicks, Charles Ira Hicks, one daughter Donna Gail Hicks, and two brothers Edgar Buck and Odell Buck.

Mrs. Hicks was an operator for Leon-Fehrenbach for 20 years and a homemaker.

She was a member of Union Christian Church and a past member of the church choir.

Survivors include one son, Mike Hicks,(Lisa), Jonesborough, two daughters Peggy Tinker (Mike), Jonesborough, Rita Jackson,(Randy), Johnson City, three brothers, David Arnold Buck, Jonesborough, J.D. Buck, Gray, Arthur Buck, Johnson City, one sister, Faye Miller, Narvor, Pa., and seven grandchildren, Mikey Hicks, Brandon Hicks, Andy Hicks, Robbie Tinker, Amanda Tinker, Johnathon Tinker, and Matthew Jackson, and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hicks will be Monday, 7pm at Union Christian Church with Minister Charles Fitzsimmons and Minister Steve Trinkle officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 till 7 pm prior to the service. Interment will be Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 12 noon at Hicks Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Mikey Hicks, Brandon Hicks, Andy Hicks, Robbie Tinker, Johnathon Tinker, and Matthew Jackson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Nicks and Austin Hunt.
