Mr. Charles “Gale” Ramsey, age 76, Limestone, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Ramsey was born in Kingsport, Tennessee and son of the late Charles & Connie Cox Ramsey. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ramsey was also preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Ramsey and Tom Ramsey.

He was a member of Bowmantown Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Chairman of Building & Grounds Committee for 23 years.

Mr. Ramsey was a United States Army Veteran and retired Dairy Farmer.

He was a member of Bowman Town Ruritan.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine “Gerry” Chapman Ramsey, Limestone; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve & Stacy Ramsey, Jonesborough and Mike & Kathy Ramsey, Limestone; granddaughter, Shelby Ramsey, Jonesborough; sisters, Mary Ann Laughlin, Kingsport, Nancy Osborne and husband, Hayes, Kingsport, Martha Williams and husband, Ray, Cleveland, TN; sister-in-law Wilma Ramsey; and numerous nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 pm Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 am Friday, January 18, 2013 at Bowmantown Baptist Church with Rev. Maurice Quillen and Rev. Christi Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Denny Chapman, Dan Brandt, Bobby Slagle, Alfred Chapman, Richard Chapman, Paul Chapman, Paul Armentrout, Gary Harris and Hayes Osborne. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Rowland, Ralph Hensley, Fred Southerland, Murphy Hensley, Arthur Deyton, Jimmy Rogers, Eugene Ward, Johnny Payne, and Don Curd.
