Mrs. Katherine P. Busbee, age 88, Jonesborough, passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mrs. Busbee grew up in the Boones Creek Community, moved to Columbia, SC in late 1950’s and returned to Tennessee in 2000. She was a daughter of the late Hurley & Ina Rector Rigsby. In addition to the parents, Mrs. Busbee was also preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Ray Busbee in 1982, brothers, Hurley Rigsby, Jr., Ernest Rigsby, Franklin Rigsby and Jimmy Rigsby, and one sister, Velma Clouse.

She was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church and attended Boones Creek Christian Church.

Mrs. Busbee graduated from Boones Creek High School in 1942. She was an employee of J.B. Whites Department Store and former employee of Leon-Ferenbach.

Survivors include sisters, Margie Harwood, Dallas, Texas, Evelyn Harwood and husband, Fred, Boones Creek Community, Phyllis Francis, Columbia, SC and Sara Belle Ballard, Grand Saline, Texas; step-daughter, Jane Duke and husband, George, Chapin, SC; several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:30 pm Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Boone Creek Christian Church Cemetery with Minister John Marr officiating.

Pallbearers will be family & friends.
