Mrs. Ruby Florence Payne, age 98, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the Lakebridge Healthcare Center, Johnson City.

Mrs. Payne was a native of Jonesborough, TN and daughter of the late James & Osa McGee. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Payne was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Payne in 1993, an infant grandson and two brothers, Frank and James McGee.

She was the oldest member of Fairview United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Payne was owner and operator of Longbranch Convenient Market and Greenhouse.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sue & Gerald Henley, Jonesborough; sons and daughters-in-law, Roy & Cindy Payne and Clyde & Elsie Payne, all of Jonesborough; two granddaughters, Patricia Beverly and husband Tim, Newport News, VA and Bobbie Jo Payne of Mississippi; one great grandson, Shane Wilson and wife Jessica, Jonesborough; two great-great grandchildren, Christian and Colton Wilson; two sisters, Elizabeth Ferguson and Ann White, both of Jonesborough; three sisters-in-law, Lucy Rupe, Lassie Payne and Betty McGee; and several nephews and nieces.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lakebridge Healthcare Center, Station 2, especially Austin Broyles, for the wonderful care and concern.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Christy Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Wednesday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Shane Wilson, Mike Haire, Lanny Rupe, John Rupe, Bob Ferguson and Bill Ferguson.
