Mrs. Mary “Ruth” Mitchell, age 87, Johnson City, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Appalachian Christian Village.
Mrs. Mitchell was a native of Washington County and daughter of the late Elmer & Jessie Barnes.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Mrs. Mitchell was a graduate of Washington College and owner of Acme Cleaners.
Survivors include her husband, James L. Mitchell, Johnson City; one sister, Opal Archer, Erwin; and several nephews and nieces.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Monte Vista Burial Park with Rev. Tony Crossnoe officiating.
Pallbearers will be Larry Archer, Larry Mitchell, Gary Snapp, Roger Barnes, Wayne Barnes and Clarence Peters.
