Mr. Gene Arthur Couch, age 66, Jonesborough, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Couch was a native of Washington County and son of Robert Craft & Ethel Francis Odom Couch. In addition to his parents, Mr. Couch was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Ray, and three brothers, George Couch, Bobby Couch and Roy Couch.

He attended Boone Trail Baptist Church.

Mr. Couch was a United States Army Veteran, having served during Vietnam with Air Calvary and was a Carpenter. He was a member of the Sulphur Springs Fire Department and Assistant Fire Chief for many years.

He was a Board Member of Fairview Cemetery

Survivors include his wife, Jean Garst Couch, Jonesborough; son and daughter-in-law, Mark & Leslie Couch; daughter and son-in-law, Kem & Tony Padgett; grandchildren, Cory Padgett, Dawson Padgett, Bailey Couch and Braydon Couch; brother and sister-in-law, Bill & Linda Couch; two sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara & Bob Hutton and Dorothy Bennett; and several nephews and nieces.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Bledsoe officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Wednesday prior to the service.

Interment services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eldridge Briggs, Jimmy Cline, Jerry Collins, Larry Bennett, Mark Sirois, Dale Ford, Mike Ford and Larry Stoots. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of Fairview Cemetery Committee, Johnny Wilcox, Pete Odom and Ray Rector.
