Mackie L. Price, 59, Elizabethton TN went home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 4, 2012 at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Johnson City and had lived in Elizabethton for the past 29 years. He was the son of the late Ralph Price Jr. and Nila Brown Price of Johnson City. He was a Christian and a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Johnson City.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a true friend to all. Mr. Price is survived by his wife of 29 years Tammie Hyder Price, his mother Nila Brown Price, sons: Brad “Bo” Price and wife Christy of Bristol TN, and Aaron Price of the home, twin grandchildren: grandson Bralyn and granddaughter Briley Price, aka “the babes” of Bristol TN; one sister, Sandra Whitaker and husband Perry, three sisters-in-law Vickie Adkins and husband Rick, whom he loved as a brother, Dale Adkins and husband Jim, and Nancy Lane, all of Elizabethton. Mother-in-law Corine Hyder of Elizabethton and Father-in-law Bill Hyder and wife Kathy of Elizabethton. His best friend of fifty years, Andy Jackson (Linda) of Oklahoma. Five nephews: Chris (Aime), Kelly (Kateland), Eddie (Judy), Nathan (Renee), and David. Seven nieces: Heather (Jeff), Amanda (Russell), Melanie (David), Heather (Jamie), Jamie, Nikki (Tony), Lindsay (Wes). God daughters: Melinda Jackson Britton of Oklahoma and Renee Jackson Rickard of North Carolina. Several great nieces and great nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Antioch Baptist Church with Dr. Allen Roberts and the Rev. Pete Tackett officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM prior to the service.
Interment services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Andy Jackson, Jimmy Collins, David Saults, Tracy Teal, Steve Haney, and Mike Cohran. Honorary Pallbearers: Paul “Butch” Pinkston,Tom Ingram, Chet Sullivan, James Price, Dr. Jason Hatjioannou, Dr. Tariq Hadaddin, Dr. Michael Ponder, Dr Randy Hoover, and the many “family” members of Antioch Baptist Church.
