Mrs. Elaine Johnson, age 91, passed away Friday, November 2, 2012 at Appalachian Christian Village, Johnson City, TN.

Mrs. Johnson was a native of Washington County and daughter of Herman and Lulu Kate Taylor Shipley. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rosemary Kim Carson, three sisters, Agnes Pickel, Lucille Shipley and Edna Stanton.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Central Baptist Church in Johnson City.

Mrs. Johnson was a stenographer and worked as a secretary at Holston Defense for 20 years.

She taught everyone around her to see the world through a different perspective, to challenge yourself and to live life the right way. Best Beloved.

Survivors include two sisters, Doris Fortner and Velma Simerly both of Johnson City, one brother, Clarence T. Shipley, Johnson City, and two grandsons, Aaron B. Carson, Asheville, NC and Barry F. Carson, Telford, TN.

The family will receive friends at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home, Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 5:00 â€" 6:00 PM. A memorial service will follow the visitation with Rev. Ron Murray officiating. Graveside services will be at Fairview Cemetery on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 10:00 AM.
