Mr. Edward P. Godsey, 61, Jonesborough, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Godsey was born in Bristol Virginia, the son of Walter P. Godsey and the Late Orpha M. Barbe Godsey.

He graduated from John S. Battle High School in 1969 and was a member of All State Chorus. He attended University of Richmond on a Debate Scholarship, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and earned a BS Degree in 1978. He also graduated with a Master’s Degree from William & Mary School of Business in 1988.

He had a career in Management with Philip Morris, Inc, and Chesapeake Packaging. He also retired as General Manager from Inland Packaging in Elizabethton.

Mr. Godsey was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors, in addition to his father, are his wife Suzanne G. Godsey, Jonesborough, one brother, Daniel H. Godsey, wife Diana, Bristol, Tenn., one sister, Betty G. Brown, Bristol, Va., and a niece Kelly Brown, also of Bristol, Va.

A Memorial service celebrating the life of Mr. Godsey will be 4:00 pm Monday, October 1, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted in Richmond, VA at a later date.
