Marvin Story

Mr. Marvin Story, age 64, Jonesborough, left his worldly residence to be with the Lord Thursday, September 27, 2012 following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Story was born in Washington County and son of Glen Story, Jonesborough and the late Lydia Mae Story. In addition to his mother, Mr. Story was also preceded in death by a loving daughter, Lisa Jane Story and a sister, Wanda Cash.

He was a member of Dry Creek Freewill Baptist Church, where he loved to attend and worship with his Christian family.

Mr. Story was a retired Bus Driver for the Washington County School System. He loved spending time with his family and especially his granddaughter, Leah, he would read the bible to her and taught her John 3:16. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially riding the four-wheeler with his family.

In addition to his father, survivors include his wife of 45 years, Helen Butler Story, Jonesborough; son and daughter-in-law, Richard & Lisa Story, Hampton, TN; grandchildren, Kristin Waters and husband Jay, Watauga and Leah Grace Story, Hampton; great-grandson, Caleb Waters, Watauga; brother, Danny Story, Jonesborough; sister, Ruth Story Garner, Jonesborough; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Miller and Rev. Terry Jones officiating. Music will be provided by The Dry Creek Singers. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Saturday prior to the service and other times at the home.

Interment services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Cherry Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Larry Loudy, Bobby Freeman, Brian Freeman, Rick Casey, Layman Casey and Virgil Norton. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Story, Vestal Freeman, Mike Shell and Martin Butler.

The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice, especially Melinda & Amanda, for their wonderful care.
