Mrs. Jewell P. Hoss, 89, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012 at her residence after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Washington County to the late Roy E. and Ida Bell Russell Hoss. She has lived all of her 89 years in and around Jonesborough. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond, Robert Harry, James H., and Bobby E. Hoss and one foster sister, Mary E Porch.

Mrs. Hoss was the owner and operator of City Cab and Safeway Cab in Jonesborough. She also owned her own mowing service; she was a Washington County Deputy. She loved horses and enjoyed life.

She was of the Pentecostal Faith.

Survivors include one son Larry E. Hoss, Jonesborough; four brothers, Guy Hoss, California, Bill Hoss, Jonesborough, Charles Hoss, Telford and George Hoss, Michigan; one sister, Ella Kate Hoss, California; several nieces and nephews and special niece Missy (Sissy) Hoss Tipton; sister-in-law, Shirley Hoss.

Graveside service will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Roselawn Memory Gardens. The family will meet at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home 12:15 pm Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.
