Mr. George Washington Thomas, age 92, Telford, went to be with the Lord on Thursday,
September 13, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Thomas was a native of Mars Hill, North Carolina and son of the late Enoch and Rushie Bailey Thomas. In addition to his parents Mr. Thomas was also preceded in death by one son, David Thomas of Telford.

Mr. Thomas was of the Baptist faith and was a life long farmer. Mr. Thomas was also a United States Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Agnes Thomas of the home, one daughter, Ronda Coggins (Larry) of Telford, two sons, Roger Thomas (Sharon) of Telford, Gary Thomas of Limestone, two granddaughters, Jennifer Loyd (Derek) of Limestone and Lisa Newlon (Andy) of Chuckey, two great grandchildren Ivy Newlon and Ian Andrew Newlon of Chuckey, three brothers, Lloyd Thomas and J. D. Thomas of Mars Hill, NC, James Benard Thomas, Morristown, TN, one sister Jean Sells, Asheville, NC.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 2-3 PM at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.

Interment will be Sunday, September 16, 2012, 3:00 PM at Graceland Cemetery, Greene County, Tennessee.
