Mr. Dennis Dale Hicks, age 57, Jonesborough, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Hicks was born in Bristol, VA and son of Gladys Belle Turner Hicks, Kingsport and the late Bobby Curtis Hicks. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sarah Nicole Hicks.

He was a member of New Victory Baptist Church.

Mr. Hicks retired from Harris Tarkett. He played the drums for the “Singing Ambassadors” and also with John Kiser and Yesterday’s Country.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Jean Hicks, Jonesborough; one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Ray & Jazmin Hicks, Jonesborough; brother and sister-in-law, Ricky & Carolyn Hicks, Gray; nephews and nieces, Victoria Hicks, Ryan Hicks, Desiray Bacon and Dalton Bacon; mother-in-law, Ila Bacon, Jonesborough; brothers and sister-in-law, J.R. Bacon and Dale & Debbie Bacon, Jonesborough.

Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Broyles and Pastor Coy Rice officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday prior to the service.

Interment services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, September 7, 2012 at Liberty Freewill Baptist Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Junior Osborne, Gary Kimery, Steve McCracken, Bobby Loveday, Danny Fields and Greg Riddle. Honorary pallbearers will be John Kiser and Larry Byrd.
