Ola Cox Dishman

Mrs. Ola Cox Dishman, age 87, of Jonesborough, passed away Monday, September 3, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Dishman was a native of Washington County and daughter of the late Toney and Nellie Blankenship. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dishman was preceded in death by two children, Kenny and Kay Cox, two husbands, Burl Cox and Paul Dishman, three sisters, Dillie Garland, Louise Dickenson and Sue Bacon, and three brothers, Ed Blankenship, Andy Blankenship and Billy Joe Blankenship.
Ms. Dishman was a member of University Parkway Baptist Church and secretary of the Fidelis Sunday School class.
Mrs. Dishman loved her family and took every opportunity to spend quality time with them; she especially enjoyed spending time with her sisters. Ola’s church family was also extremely important to her. She loved the teaching, fellowship, love, and care her Sunday school class provided. A special thanks goes out to her church family.
Mrs. Dishman is survived by two sons, Dan Cox and Jim Cox, both of Limestone; three sisters, Kate Cox, Linda Edmisten and husband Mack, Jan Wishon and husband Rusty, three brothers, Cecil Blankenship and wife Lilia, Jess Blankenship and wife Ann, Richard Blankenship and wife Judy, five grandchildren, Chris Cox Gage, Richard “Ricky” Cox, Kenny Cox, Billy Cox, Steven Cox, four great grandchildren, Corey Gage, Jessica Gage, Marissa Cox, Kaydan Cox, one great, great grandchild, Aiden Gage, several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 6, 2012 at University Parkway Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Oaks and Pastor Rusty Wishon officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00"8:00 PM Thursday prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
Internment service will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 7, 2012 at Maple Lawn Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside are asked to meet 9:30 am Friday at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
