Muriel June Foster Ross died at home on August 14, 2012 in Johnson City, TN.
Preceding her in death were her mother and father, Ennis Metcalf Foster and Samuel Anderson Foster, her foster mother, Tilda Foster Aiken, her foster brothers and sisters, J.O. Aiken, Robert Aiken, Sam Aiken, Harry Aiken, Gene Aiken, Joy Gourley, and Mary Ruth Harris, her legal guardian, Lula Foster Waldrop, and her husband, Dr. Ned Moses Ross.

Survivors include her children: Elaine Morse, Robert Gualtieri, Sr., Debra Ross, Yvette Stewart-Robinson, and Sandra Ross, as well as all her “adopted” children over the years of her life; her grandchildren: Rachael Gualtieri, Jason Rodriguez, James Bernabei, and Robert Gualtieri, Jr., as well as all her “adopted” grandchildren over the years of her life; her great-grandchildren Tionna Rodriguez and Jesse Bernabei, brother and sister by marriage: Jennings and Lydia Berry, and special niece and nephew: Pam Aldridge and Warren Berry.

She remains a faithful member of the body of Christ, enduring committedly to the end of this life, and now awaiting the resurrection and the words “Well done, Muriel. You are a good and faithful servant.”

The family extends special thanks to Mountain States Home Health: Wendy Woodard and the other two Wendi/y’s (nurses) who helped us so much at the beginning of this part of the journey, Rachael (nurse), Candace (nurse), Beth Dollinger (physical therapist), and the rest of the nursing and PT staff who assisted us; to Mountain States Hospice: Pam, Brad, and Ivy (nurses); to all the staff at Blue Ridge Family Medicine, including Dr. Brian Way and Jim Aderhold; Dr. Marc Fagelson, Director of Audiology at East Tennessee State University who was not only a great help with Mom’s hearing, but also a wonderful friend, and Dawn Kilday, Ashley Rhymer, Tina Hatley, Beth Brittain, Denise Dobson, Jackie Peterson, Becca Washington, Janel Johnson, and Dee Kilough for being there in friendship, help, support, encouragement, and love and filling in the gaps.

Visitation will be from 4 " 6 pm on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home in Jonesborough, TN, followed by the funeral service. Burial will be at 11 am on Monday, August 20, 1912 at Oakland Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Telford, TN. Pallbearers will be Terry Jaynes, Randy Aiken, David Renfro, Daniel Renfro, Ben Dobson, and Jason Renfro. Both the funeral and burial service will be conducted by David Dobson and Eric Evans.
