Mrs. Florence H. Hilemon, 60, Chuckey, with her glorious smile was welcomed to heaven on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from the Bristol Regional Medical Center.” She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Florence was loved by all who knew her.”

She was born in Yancey County North Carolina, the daughter of the late Floyd and Edna Higgins Hilemon.

Mrs. Hilemon was previously employed by the Veterans Administration as a dietitian.

She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir.

Survivors include her loving husband of 42 years, Ward Hilemon, Chuckey, two sons, Gregory Hilemon, Greenville, Timothy Hilemon, Chuckey, one daughter Kym Phillips and husband Scott, Jonesborough, four Grandchildren, Logan Hilemon, Makayla Hilemon, Lucas Phillips, Caleb Phillips, one sister Alma Wilson, Asheville N.C., and two brothers, Ernest Hilemon and wife Myrna, Chuckey, Floyd Hilemon Jr. and wife Donna, Candler N.C. and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Florence Hilemon will be conducted at 8 pm Monday August 6, 2012, at Trinity Baptist Church, Jonesborough, with Dr. Mark Herrod officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm prior to the service. Interment services will be Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 11 am at Philadelphia Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Roger Hilemon, Keith Gouge, Brandon Latak, Chris Hilemon, Michael Martin, and Steve Wilson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the faculty and staff especially the doctors and nurses of the MICU at Bristol Regional Medical Center Hospital.
