Mr. James Dale Surcey, age 60, Gray, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Surcey was a native of Washington County and son of the late Paul and Ethel Taylor Surcey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Surcey.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Surcey retired from Eastman Chemical Co.

He loved sports, especially UT. He was instrumental in starting the Eastman Softball Invitational.

Survivors include one son, Paul Surcey; one daughter, Sabrina Surcey; two grandchildren, Trinity Deal and Bryson Blevins; and several cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, July 30, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Boones Creek Christian Church Cemetery. The family request friends meet at cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
