Mrs. Dorothy Oliver Holcomb, age 83, Jonesborough, went home to her heavenly reward Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center. A journey she was striving for all her life. She lived life to the fullest and loved everyone she met.

Mrs. Holcomb was a native of Sullivan County and daughter of the late Raymond & Minnie Shipley King. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husbands, Stanley Oliver in 1992 and Henry Holcomb in 2008, two step children, three sisters and four brothers.

She was a member of Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children Virginia Murr (Glenn), Mary Carr (Dennis), Jimbo Oliver (Susan), Dennis Oliver, Lisa Miller (Jerry), and Angel Cook (John); three step children, two sisters, Margaret Mosier and Iva Mae Stout; two brothers, Brownie King (Betty) and Ivan King; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Johnson City Medical Center 2300 floor and ICU 2600 that worked so hard to save momma, and to her friends at Bethel Housing and Jonesborough Senior Citizens for their wonderful love and support.

Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 pm Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Perry Cleek officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm Sunday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Oliver Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Carr, Jerry Miller, Mark Hoyle, Glenn Murr, J.G. Oliver and Ed McLemore.
