Mr. Quevia Lincoln “Q.L.” Starnes, age 70, Telford, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Starnes was a native of Washington County and son of the late Lacy & Mildred Hagood Starnes. In addition to his parents, Mr. Starnes was also preceded in death by two step-sons, Jeff Higgins and Randy Nelson, two sisters, Leota Arrowood and Etta Keys, a half-brother, Frank Hagood, and two brothers-in-law, Muncy Foster and Johnny Sparks

He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Starnes retired from Baxter Pharmaceutical and was a Cattle and Tobacco Farmer.

He loved to play the guitar listen to Country and Bluegrass Music, going hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Higgins Starnes, Telford; two daughters and son-in-law, Juanita & Larry Mackey and Charlotte Chapman and friend, Kevin Morrow, all of Ocala, Florida; step-son, Lynn Nelson, Greeneville; granddaughter, Lacy Mackey, Ocala; one step-grandchild, Jason Higgins; one step-great grandchild Jaden Higgins, two sisters, Christine Foster, Chuckey and Lorraine Sparks, Telford; two brothers-in-law, Lawrence Arrowood, Telford and Bud Keys, Baileyton; lots of cousins and several nephews and nieces.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Mountain States Hospice & Home Health Care, Bob & Linda Waddle, and our friends and neighbors for their wonderful care and support during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Brown and Rev. Estel Tipton officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Sunday prior to the service.

Interment services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, June 4, 2012 at Mt. Wesley Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Andy Vaughn, Jason Higgins, Jeff Honeycutt, John Carver, Aaron Waddle and David Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron McKinney, Larry Arrowood, Noah Arrowood, Carroll Higgins, Bob Waddle, Belve Sanders, Estel Tipton, Dallas Johnson, Carl Rex Cloyd, Ralph Treadway, Brandon Waddle, Dr. Jim Dykes, Larry Mackey, Brian Brewer Jr., and Kevin Morrow.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Parkinson ’s disease Foundation 710 W. 168th Street New York, NY 10032-9982, or your favorite charity.
