Mrs. Myrtle Faye Decker, age 90, Jonesborough, TN passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Lakebridge Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Decker was a native of Clinchfield, Virginia and was raised in Berwind, WV. She was a daughter of the late William Jacob & Nannie Belle Musick Stevens. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Decker was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman Raymond Decker, Jr., one brother, Wilford Stevens and two sisters, Millie Maynard and Ocie Tolly.
She was a member of Fairhaven United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Decker retired from McDowell County Board of Education, Welch, West Virginia.
Beginning in 1943 til the end of WW II, Mrs. Decker worked as a wing riveter on B-24 Liberator Bombers at the Willow Run Assembly Plant in Michigan.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Jerry & Janet Decker, Johnson City; a daughter and son-in-law, Judith & Jack Bragg, Jonesborough; one sister, Helen Reece, Princeton, WV; grandchildren, Rebecca Madison (Marcus), Powell, TN, Jennifer Hopson (Danny), Greeneville and Jill Waters (James), Jonesborough; great-grandchildren, Rachel Cox (Travis), Elizabeth Waters, Mathew Waters and Thomas Waters, all of Jonesborough, Jake Grady and Madison Grady, Greeneville and Krysta Madison, Powell, TN; one great great granddaughter, Kya Lynn Cox, Jonesborough, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 pm Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Dr. Rev. Tae Hun Yoon officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm Sunday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 3:00 pm Monday, May 28, 2012 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Decker, Jack Bragg, Travis Cox, Jake Grady, Mathew Waters, James Waters, Danny Hopson, and Marcus Madison.
