Mrs. Mary Catherine Jones, age 85, Jonesborough, Tn. passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Christian Care Center of Johnson City.

Mrs. Jones was born in Danville, Illinois on May 14, 1927. She moved to Tenn. in 2009 to be nearer to her daughters. She was the daughter of the late Horace W. & Margaret Barnes Stewart of Rossville, Ill. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles J. Jones, a daughter Susan Pickett, daughter Catherine Pickett and a sister Martha Stillabower.

Mrs. Jones graduated from Lakeview School of Nursing in 1948 and retired from the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Danville.

She was a member of Benson’s Chapel Methodist Church in Danville.

Survivors include two daughters; Rebecca (Bill) Chapman of Jonesborough, Tn., Barbara (Skip) Kruse of West Palm Beach Fl. and one son Michael Pickett of Danville, Ill. one sister Elizabeth (Carl) Daniels, four grandchildren; William (Crystal) Chapman, Robert (Andrea) Chapman, Nathan Pickett and Angela Pickett and two very precious great granddaughters, Natali Pickett and Evelyn Chapman.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with a short memorial service to follow with pastor Jonathan Peppers officiating. Burial will be at the Veteran’s Administration Cemetery, 1900 E Main Street, Danville Ill.
