Mr. Charles Daniel King, age 84, Jonesborough, passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Center on Aging & Health in Erwin.

Mr. King was a native of Washington County and son of the late Ed & Rosie Mae Bowman King. In addition to his parents, Mr. King was also preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Cook King, three brothers, John King, Grover King and Roy King, three sisters, Katherine King Howell, Rosie King Hicks and Lillian King.

Mr. King was a Christian.

He was a United States Army Veteran having served during WWII. He was an avid collector of Military Insignia Memorabilia.

Survivors include two brothers, Jack King, Jonesborough and Toy King, Lakeland, FL; sister, Mary King Thomas, Jonesborough; and many nephews and nieces.

Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 am Thursday, May 24 2012 at Mountain Home National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family & friends.
