Mrs. Gloria “Susie” Smith Douglas, age 54, Johnson City, was born June 24, 1957 and passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at her residence, surrounded by her family and friends, after a lengthy battle of cancer.

Mrs. Douglas was preceded in death by her brother, William Bart Bishop.

She loved Jesus and was a member of Covenant Fellowship Ministries.

Her children and grandchildren was her world and also believed in living life to the fullest.

Survivors include daughters, Debra “Debi” Williams, Johnson City and Angela Douglas, Telford; sons-in-law, Travis Williams and Tim Douglas; grandchildren, Danica Elyesse Williams, Jacob Nathaniel DeVotie and Elijah Brent Douglas; mother, Joyce Casteel, brother, Stephen Casteel, sister, Lisa King, all of Johnson City.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Nancy Dugger, for being a wonderful, patient and kind caregiver. Mary Smith Campbell and Johnny Vines, thank you for being so helpful and supportive, she couldn’t have asked for better friends than you both.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 pm Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Jack Bradley officiating.

Pallbearers will be Travis Williams, Tim Douglas, Gary Wilson, Timmy Wilson, and Jacob Devotie. Honorary pallbearer will be Elijah Douglas.
