Mr. Douglas Kirk “Doug” Gourley, age 58, Knoxville, formerly of Greeneville, passed away suddenly Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at his home.

Doug was a graduate of Chuckey-Doak High School and attended the University of Tennessee. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Air Force.

He had worked for Ferguson Enterprise and Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.

Doug was an avid golfer, reader, enjoyed all sports, especially the Atlanta Braves.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joye Gourley.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 32 years, Deborah Gourley, twin-daughters, Sharon Glover and Shannon Hinson; grandchildren, Blake Hinson, Joshua and Jacob Stitt all of Knoxville; father, Rev. William R. Gourley, Telford; brothers and sisters-in-law, David & Meghan Gourley, Telford, Dan & Jan Gourley, Georgia; nephew, Coleman; nieces, Candace & Shontel; several cousins, great nieces and nephews; mother and father-in-law, Jerry & Mildred McCroskey, Knoxville; brothers-in-law, Dennis Taylor, Blountville and Ricky Taylor, Knoxville.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted 8:00 pm Monday, May 21, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday prior to the service.

Memorial donations may be made to Thompson Cancer Survival Center 1915 White Ave. Knoxville, TN 37916.
